Tavern

Our tavern in Kamilari

Make yourself at home!

Nothing much has changed from the time our parents opened the restaurant in 1985. We have kept our concept of making our own products and using them for the preparation of the food we offer in our restaurant. The vegetables, fruit and meat mostly come from our own production, in the family farm. The olive oil also comes from our Koroneiki olive groves, and Giorgos even makes himself the red house wine we serve, from his Syrah grapes.

Giorgos actually developed his own brand of Cretan products, which you can find out more about here.

The dishes we offer are prepared according to traditional recipes and, as customary in Crete, we invite you to have a look into our kitchen to choose what you like from our daily selection of freshly-cooked dishes. Of course, you can also choose something directly from the menu. We offer a wide selection of appetizers, salads, vegetarian dishes, fish and meat dishes.

You’ll also surely find the drink you want in our extensive selection of beverages, and we’ll be happy to recommend you the right wine for each dish. If you wish, you can round off your meal with a dessert but, by all means, you’ll have to try a glass of our home-made raki, which Giorgos also crafts himself every November, having inherited the distiller’s license from his father.

The restaurant has two outdoor and one indoor area, so you can always choose where you want to sit on any given day.

Over the years, we have gained a number of regular guests and many of them have also become our friends, so each time we get together again is a moment to rejoice. We always welcome all our visitors and we’ll greatly enjoy cooking up a comfortable, laid-back and cheerful atmosphere for you alongside our tasty dishes, so that you have the best possible time in our restaurant.

Just stop by one evening – we are only a minute away from the village square (Platia), in the centre of Kamilari – and you’ll surely want to visit us again!
